Should you choose a Linux or Windows hosting package?

The good news is that a website on a Linux server can be opened from a PC with Windows-, Linux-, Apple- or any other operating system. You don't necessarily have to choose Windows hosting if you are working with a Windows PC. The main difference is in the scripts and databases which you can use on your site.
Linux hosting supports MIVA, Tomcat JSP en Python, while Windows hosting does not. On the other hand Windows hosting allows you to use MS ASP and ASP.NET, MS SQL- and MS Access databases, MS Visual Basic scripts, whereas this isn't possible with Linux hosting.
