At Stone Internet Services we give great importance to the ecological impact of our serverpark.Yearly, each webserver is responsible for as much CO2-emittance as a big SUV, because of the power usage. However,we do try to limit our CO2 impact, and we do this by:
1. The use of a virtualised cloud environment we make efficient use of the system sources. This allows for efficient use of the deployed systems.
2. The power usage of the systems used by us is one of the main criteria at purchase.
3. Stone Internet Services uses datacentres that utilise green energy. Our datacentre in Diegem is holder of the Nuon Nature Certificate.
4. Our Fujitsu Storage System where the data of our customers is stored, is the greenest SAN solution on the market, discs function in eco mode and are switched off when they are not in use.
5. Our servers are set up according to the cold corridor principle, which guarantees efficient cooling.
6. 99,9% of our invoices is only delivered digitally to the customer. This decreases emittance caused by the delivery of mail in the traditional way and because of this we hardly need paper in our offices. We have been doing this since 2003.
